South Punjab AIG Reviews Muharram Security in Bahawalnagar

South Punjab AIG (Operations) Captain (retired) Muhammad Ajmal visited Bahawalnagar district on Wednesday to review security arrangements for 8th Muharram processions. According to a police spokesperson, the visit was conducted on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police Punjab.

Security Review for Muharram Processions

AIG Operations South Punjab reviewed the security arrangements for the main processions and gatherings scheduled on 8th, 9th and 10th of Muharram. District Police Officer Bahawalnagar Muhammad Imran accompanied him during the visit and provided a detailed briefing on law and order and police deployment across the district.

Foolproof Security Measures

DPO Muhammad Imran informed that CCTV cameras, walk-through gates and metal detectors are being used, along with snipers positioned on rooftops to ensure foolproof security of the processions. AIG Operations expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and directed officers to maintain extraordinary security on routes of gatherings and processions.

High Alert Instructions

He emphasised that all officials on duty should remain on high alert and keep a close watch on miscreants. DPO Muhammad Imran reiterated that Bahawalnagar Police, with the cooperation of citizens, is working day and night to maintain peace and order during Muharram.
