Deadly Tribal Violence Erupts in Khairpur
A violent confrontation between two tribes near Paryalu in Khairpur resulted in four fatalities and eight injuries on Thursday. The clash involved heavy exchange of fire between the Ulra and Jatoi groups, creating a tense situation in the area.
According to police officials, the bodies of the slain individuals have yet to be identified, adding to the complexity of the investigation. Medical authorities confirmed that two of the injured victims are in critical condition and receiving emergency treatment.
Police Response and Control Measures
A substantial police contingent arrived at the scene under the direct supervision of SSP Khairpur Hassan Sardar Niazi. The senior police officer confirmed that authorities have successfully brought the volatile situation under control and initiated a comprehensive operation to maintain peace.
SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi stated that the police are conducting thorough investigations into the incident while maintaining a strong security presence in the region to prevent further escalation of violence between the rival groups.
Separate Shooting Incident in Gojra
In a unrelated but equally tragic incident, two individuals were shot dead in a firing incident at Jhang Road in Gojra. The victims, identified as 50-year-old Tauseef and 30-year-old Hassan, were targeted while approaching the court premises.
Police investigations revealed that the shooting occurred near Allied Bank on Jhang Road, where Rafi and four other accused opened fire, killing both men instantly. A bystander caught in the crossfire also sustained injuries during the attack.
Authorities confirmed that the deceased individuals hailed from Chak 303, JB Kathur and noted that a long-standing enmity between the involved parties likely motivated the targeted attack. The brazen shooting in the heart of the city spread panic among local residents and business owners.
Aftermath and Medical Response
Emergency services promptly transferred all victims, including both the deceased and injured, to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medical attention and formal identification procedures. Police teams secured the crime scenes and initiated preliminary legal proceedings in both cases.
In a related development from Karachi, four illegal Afghan nationals were arrested during a separate police operation, though authorities have not confirmed any connection between this arrest and the violence in Khairpur and Gojra.
Local communities remain on high alert as police continue their investigations and maintain increased security patrols in both affected regions to prevent retaliatory actions and further bloodshed.
