Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police carried out extensive combing and search operations across seven police station jurisdictions, checking 365 individuals as part of ongoing efforts to bolster security in the federal capital. The operations were conducted on Thursday under the supervision of zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs), following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
Scope of the Operations
The search operations covered the jurisdictions of Sihala, Shalimar, Humak, Bhara Kahu, Sabzi Mandi, Kohsar, and Tarnol police stations. According to an official, women police personnel also participated in the operations. During the course of the searches, authorities checked 365 individuals and 202 households.
Inspections and Verifications
Police inspected 19 hotels, 53 shops, 197 motorcycles, and 63 vehicles. As a result, 10 suspicious persons and 21 motorcycles were shifted to respective police stations for further verification and legal action. The official emphasized that these measures were part of proactive policing to ensure public safety.
Enhanced Security Measures
Special checking points were established at entry and exit points of the city. Patrolling units and special police squads remained active across Islamabad to enhance security. The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity. He reaffirmed that Islamabad Police remained committed to protecting the lives and property of residents through intelligence-based operations.
