A bloody armed clash between two rival groups over a long-standing dispute in the Balkanai area of Shangla district resulted in two deaths and one injury, according to police. Law enforcement has launched raids at multiple locations to arrest the suspects involved.

Incident Details

Police reported that the firing incident occurred in Balkanai after a verbal altercation between Muhammad Akram, son of Baharuddin, from one group and Khurshid, son of Arsala Mian, from the rival group escalated into a violent armed confrontation. Both sides opened indiscriminate fire on each other, causing critical injuries to Sarzameen and Saeed Mian, both belonging to the second party. The two victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot before receiving medical treatment.

Police Response

Station House Officer (SHO) Olander, Nisar Khan, confirmed that another person was injured in the exchange of fire and was shifted to a nearby hospital. Soon after receiving information, a heavy contingent of Olander Police rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area, and brought the situation under control. SHO Nisar Khan said police teams were conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the accused involved in the double murder. He added that several suspects had also been taken into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
