Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a meeting on Wednesday to deliberate on the current situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). The PPP Chairman called on the deputy prime minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
Congratulations and Support for GB Government
During the meeting, DPM/FM Dar congratulated Bilawal Bhutto on the formation of the government in Gilgit-Baltistan. In response, Bilawal thanked the deputy prime minister for the support extended by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in inducting an elected government in GB, according to a press release from the DPM’s Office.
Commitment to Free and Fair Elections in AJK
Both leaders agreed on the importance of holding free, fair, and transparent general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The discussions underscored the need to ensure that the electoral process in AJK is credible and reflects the will of the people.
