9th Muharram Observed Across Pakistan with Solemnity

The 9th of Muharram-ul Haram is being observed across the country on Saturday with due solemnity and respect to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions in the Battle of Karbala. Majalis are being held in small and major cities, while Tazia and Alam processions are being taken out in different parts of the country amid heightened security arrangements.

Islamabad Procession and Security Measures

In the federal capital, the main 9th Muharram procession is scheduled to begin this afternoon from Imambargah G-6/2 and will pass through its traditional route. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police and Islamabad Traffic Police have made comprehensive security and traffic management arrangements to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession.

Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that more than 1,000 personnel from district and traffic police have been deployed to provide foolproof security and maintain the smooth flow of traffic along the procession route. Chief Traffic Police Officer Kainat Azhar Khan also visited the entire route of the procession and reviewed security and traffic arrangements. During the visit, she issued on-the-spot instructions to traffic officials performing duty along the route.
